Twenty two years ago I was working as night manager for a very exclusive polynesian resort in Hawaii. This resort featured thatched roof bungalows and total polynesian decor. The luaus were promoted as the most authentic in Hawaii but I was dismayed to see that in the midst of all this rustic elegance the buffets were served in stainless steel chafing dishes. I had recently built an ocean cruising catamaran and still had a complete wood shop so I decided to design a more appropriate chafing cabinet. The result was the teak chafer we have been selling for over twenty two years.
We have manufactured a large variety of teak products under the company name KAP BANQUET PRODUCTS but recently decided to concentrate production solely on our teak split lid chafer which has consistantly accounted for 90% of sales.
A few years ago the Travel channel produced a show featuring the ten best hotels in the United States. Nine of these ten hotels were using our teak chafers as are hundreds of the best hospitality outlets worldwide. The confidence our customers have in our chafers has allowed us to operate exclusively on repeat and referral basis with vertually no marketing expenses. Very few companies can claim this enviable position

Product Care,Product Features
Product Care
All of our teak products require very little care when compared to conventional food and beverage equipment. Care is simply regular oiling of the wood. We reccommend a quick wipe down before and after use with a small towel saturated with baby oil. This towel can be easily stored or carried to function site in a strong ziploc bag. The wipe down before use protects and heightens the beauty of the wood while in use, and the wipe down after cleans any stains and conditions the wood while in storage. It is important not to use any other oils as some contain toxins incompatable with food and beverage service while others contain nutrients which could promote biological contamination of the wood.
Product Features
All of our products are designed to give exceptional value.
1.- The enclosed design of our chafers has two major advantages over conventional chafing dishes. Our chafers are windproof, which makes them ideal for outdoor functions. They also use 25% less fuel than conventional chafing dishes. This fuel saving will pay for the chafer in approximately 18 months.
2.- They lower labor costs by encouraging guest self service.
3.- Expensive plating and polishing cost are eliminated.
4.- We have been manufacturing our hardwood chafers for 18 years and are continually improving them. Many of our original chafers are still in service.
5.- Low key elegance and novel appearence is entertaining to guests.
